Manual Machinist - Aerospace and Power GenerationLocation: SheffieldPay: 14-19p/h DOE and shiftWe are seeking skilled Manual Machinists to join our clients team, machining centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries. While time-served experience is preferred, it is not essential. You will work with a range of stainless alloys, ensuring high-quality precision machining.Key Responsibilities:Machine large castings to spec.Operate various manual machines, including lathes and horizontal and vertical borers.Ensure production deadlines are met efficiently.Perform visual inspections of machined castings.Properly mark swarf drums for alloy identification.Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.Maintain safety standards in all activities in line with company procedures.Required Skills and Experience:Minimum 3 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to produce precise components.Proficiency in working to tight tolerances and using measuring equipment accurately.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Self-motivated but also an effective team player.Flexible approach to work, including overtime and shift work.Solid understanding of health and safety, environmental standards, and quality control.
