Mechanical Design Engineer - 6 Month Contract - WarwickVIQU have partnered with an organisation who are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of heavy-duty vehicle chassis systems and structural components. Working within a specialist vehicle manufacturing environment, you will be involved in chassis design, system integration and engineering change activities.This is a hands-on role focused on chassis structures, fabrications, suspension, steering and braking systems. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will also provide technical support to production, resolving design and manufacturing issues as they arise.Role Responsibilities Design and develop heavy-duty chassis structures, sheet metal components and fabricated assemblies using 3D CAD and detailed manufacturing drawings.Provide production engineering support by investigating manufacturing and assembly issues and implementing robust corrective actions.Deliver integration activities across vehicle systems including suspension, steering, braking, axle and chassis-mounted components.Create and release engineering changes through the established engineering change management process.Support vehicle validation and testing activities, using engineering judgement to assess performance, manufacturability and product quality.
