We have a fantastic opportunity to join our ever-growing Leicestershire Residential Team as a Deputy Manager on a full-time permanent basis - We have numerous vacancies still available!Barnardo''s, the UK''s largest Children''s Charity are currently on an exciting and innovative journey alongside Leicestershire County Council to deliver a range of Children''s homes for the most vulnerable children and young people in Leicestershire. Our homes are based in Hinckley, Coalville, Syston, Mountsorrel, Braunstone and Market Harborough. Some are fully up and running whilst others are still being mobilised. Each home supports children and young people aged between 8-18, providing up to 3 service users at any one time to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills.Responsibilities
Build trust and develop nurturing relationships that promote the service user''s independence, wellbeing, strengths and capabilities.Work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.Shift lead and conduct staff supervision(s).Support the Registered Manager with audits and other duties as required.Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, etc.Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.Promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.About you
Do you hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare?Do you hold OR are you willing to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People''s services?Do you have at least 1 year supervisory and shift leader experience in a Children''s Residential setting?Do you have knowledge and experience of working with OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards of Children''s homes with the ability to support the manager to achieve a rating of outstanding?Do you have knowledge and experience of recording and reporting to enable safeguarding and protection of children and young people?How to apply
