Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) - Full Time
Location: Stockton and Surrounding areas
Salary: Competitive rate depending on experience
Hours: Term Time only Mon to Fri 8.30am till 3.30pm
About the Role:
Empowering Learning are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our supportive team. This is a full-time position, working 5 days per week, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs to help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social development
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
- Promote independence and confidence in all pupils
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (essential)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to commit to full-time work (5 days per week)
- Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to purchase one prior to starting
- Must be able to provide the last 2 years worth of professional work references
