The Burford Recruitment Company is delighted to be partnering with a growing financial services firm based in Burford, who is seeking a Junior Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone looking to step into the finance sector.

You’ll be joining a friendly and dynamic team, working closely with the Management Accountant and Financial Controller, supporting them with day-to-day financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, assist with queries, and direct to relevant teams when required
• Respond to queries in the accounts inbox and ensure timely replies
• Post incoming payments and perform daily reconciliations
• Make daily payments and handle any related queries
• Monitor and manage outstanding debts, ensuring timely collection of payments
• Communicate effectively with relevant parties to resolve payment discrepancies or disputes
• Support the Management Accountant with any other ad hoc tasks as required

Skills and attributes required

• No previous experience necessary, ideal for individuals eager to progress within the finance sector
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong problem-solving ability
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt
