Biopharmaceuticals are continuing to grow in popularity, with more compounds reaching clinical trials and regulatory approval. During biopharmaceutical research and development, an important step is the accurate determination of structure and function of these molecules. A key technique used in this process is LC-MS, along with a multitude of specialised mass spec assays like HDX. In this role, you will be responsible for the characterisation of proteins to elucidate their structure, function, and degradation pathways. Utilising an impressive suite of LC-MS instrumentation inc Orbitraps and other high resolution instruments, you will design and conduct analyses along with reporting your findings. Responsibilities will also include close liaison with other members of staff at sites located around the world and academic collaborators. You must possess a strong analytical background, including experimental design, data/results analysis and report presentation. Experience and a thorough understanding of protein/peptide chemistry is essential, along with a familiarity of using LC-MS to characterise proteins.
