With the Head of Supply Chain, manage approved suppliers and implement the best commercial solutions for current and future parts and assemblies.Directly manage a team of Buyers, setting objectives and managing capacity and performance.Collaborate with the planning team to meet the production schedule, ensuring materials are ordered on time and shortages are avoided at the point of build launch.Communicate material availability issues that may impact build schedules and develop solutions to mitigate potential delivery risks.Support robust supplier management through Supplier Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Supplier Scorecards and regular Supplier visits/Business Reviews.Work with Engineering, Planning and Quality to ensure robust supplier management.Support Daily Start of Shift and other departmental meetings, delegating actions effectively within the team and closing them timely.Support the production of and drive departmental KPI’s.Place orders with approved suppliers based on: mirror MRP demand, optimize lead time, quality and price, and use designated OIPT key suppliers per the Approved Vendor List.Ensure Open Order reports are actioned weekly and the MRP system is updated.Propose and develop a commodity strategy and improvement opportunities to enhance quality, cost, delivery, and reduce supply chain risk.Other tasks include solving invoice queries, managing Return to Vendor stock, FAI’s, cost updates, lead time reviews, service stocks, and spot purchases.Education/Qualifications

Purchasing qualification by experience or education (CIPS level 4).Qualification in a technical discipline (e.g., HNC/HND or Degree).Professional Skills/Abilities

Able to build effective relationships and communicate clearly.Strong Excel and data analysis skills.MRP fluent, ideally E1 (JD Edwards), SAP or Oracle.Ability to manage conflicting priorities and people.Experience in engineering/production environments with challenging deadlines and changes to ensure quality and delivery objectives.End-to-end knowledge of complex manufacturing supply chains and purchasing processes.Understanding of ERP/MRP and data compliance.Open to new ways of working and innovative in suggesting ideas and solutions.Personal Qualities
