Our Client is an award-winning family-owned British organic grower, miller and food producer based in Berkshire, who are also the UK’s number one organic flour brand dedicated to crafting only the best from sustainably grown ingredients. We are now supporting them in trying to recruit a talented National Account Manager (Wholesale, Convenience & eCommerce), who has broad FMCG food sales experience.
Reporting to their Head of Sales, you will be responsible for managing and growing key wholesale, convenience and eCommerce accounts, including customers such as Suma, Essential, Abel & Cole, Holland & Barrett, Ocado and Amazon. Working as a key member of their sales team, this role will be responsible for leading the interface between the business, their customers, and the achievement of company sales, share, revenue and profit goals. This is a demanding role which will require drive, ambition, and enthusiasm, combined with a high level of technical skills such as selling, negotiation, forecasting and commercial awareness. Equally the ability to foster outstanding customer relationships. A key aspect of this role will be the daily interaction with other functions within the business, so you will need to demonstrate success in working as part of a cross functional team.

Detailed duties and responsibilities will be:
- Manage and develop relationships with key wholesale, convenience and eCommerce customers.
- Own and manage customer P&Ls.
- Drive range, distribution, availability and visibility of company Foods products.
- Lead joint business planning processes with key customers where appropriate.
- Develop and implement customer specific commercial strategies.
- Negotiate pricing, promotional activity, trading terms and commercial agreements.
- Produce accurate monthly sales forecasts and performance reporting.
- Collaborate cross functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance teams.
- Ensure delivery of agreed customer plans and growth initiatives.
- Identify and unlock new commercial opportunities within existing accounts.
- Identify opportunities for new distribution and customer growth across wholesale, convenience and eCommerce channels.
- Manage promotional plans and investment to deliver profitable growth.
- Use customer and market data to identify opportunities to improve sales and commercial performance.
- Ensure product availability, content and presentation are optimised across eCommerce customers.
- Work with Marketing to maximise digital activity and visibility with online customers, including Amazon and Ocado.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Should ideally be educated with a Degree or equivalent, although plenty of relevant experience will be considered.
- You should be a highly skilled National Account Manager or FMCG Sales Manager, with broad food sales experience.
- Should have experience managing wholesale and convenience customers, together with a working knowledge of branded and private label FMCG products.
- Experience owning and managing customer P&Ls.
- Experience in customer negotiations and commercial planning.
- Exposure to forecasting and sales performance analysis.
- You will need to be commercially astute and able to collaborate and influence effectively.
It’s great if you also have the following:
- Experience managing major online customers such as Amazon, Ocado or similar, would be advantageous.
