Grounds Maintenance Operative - Gardener

Our client, a leading organisation in the housing and property services sector, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who take pride in creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.

Position Details:

• Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative - Gardener
• Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for temp to perm)
• Salary: -25,893 per annum (equivalent to -13.46 per hour)
• Working Pattern: Full Time, 37 hours per week

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
• Friday: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering high-quality grass cutting using modern tools and equipment, ensuring every lawn is neat and tidy.
• Safely removing and disposing of green waste, contributing to clean and environmentally compliant sites.
• Maintaining landscapes through hedge and bush reduction, shaping, and trimming to ensure year-round attractiveness.
• Utilising strimmers and other powered tools for a crisp finish on borders and hard-to-reach spots.
• Implementing effective weed control methods to keep estates presentable and support long-term landscape health.
• Taking ownership of shrub pruning, maintenance, and seasonal planting to create vibrant outdoor spaces.
• Engaging in regular litter picking and site tidying to maintain safe and attractive environments.
• Assisting with light repairs and maintenance of paved and slabbed areas to ensure safety and presentation.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
While not essential, candidates with the following will be highly regarded:

• PA1 & PA6 spraying licence
• Banksman training
• Licence to drive a trailer

Additional Requirements:
Candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to operate a manual company vehicle as part of the role. Please note that this position is subject to a Basic DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
