Site Manager – Groundworks

Location: Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire
Start: ASAP
Duration: 2–3 Years

We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to join a long-term groundworks scheme in Bishops Stortford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong groundworks and civils background looking for secure, long-term work, with approximately 2–3 years of work available on the project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the works on site, ensuring operations are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the agreed programme and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the day-to-day site operations
• Supervising site teams and subcontractors
• Coordinating groundworks and civils activities
• Ensuring works are delivered to programme and specification
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and quality
• Liaising with Project Managers, engineers and subcontractors
• Monitoring progress and reporting back to the project team
• Managing site paperwork, RAMS and daily records
• Ensuring the site is well organised and running efficiently

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager
• Strong groundworks/civils background
• Previous experience working for a groundworks or civil engineering contractor is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of site health & safety and construction processes
• Ability to manage site teams and subcontractors effectively
• SMSTS
• CSCS
• First Aid
• Strong communication and organisational skills
