SummaryKey Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Prison Services Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive medicines optimization service to the prison. Your duties will include:Administering medications to offenders during designated times as part of a 7-day per week rota.Conducting medicines reconciliation for new prisoners.Supervising assistants in the dispensary to ensure high-quality dispensing services.Performing final dispensing checks as an accredited checking technician.Maintaining high standards of work in the dispensary, clinics, and on the wings, adhering to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Assisting the Senior Prisons Technician in writing, updating, and monitoring the use of medicines optimization SOPs.

Important Information
Applicants must be willing to undergo National Security Vetting to work in a prison setting. This will be part of the pre-employment checks conducted by Oxleas and the prison vetting team. You will need to provide:Proof of right to work documentationProof of ID, including one photographic IDProof of address documentationFor non-UK passport holders, correct documentation for the right to work in the UK and a Home Office Share code are required. A five-year address history is needed, and applicants with less than five years of UK address history must provide a police certificate in English from their previous country of residence. UK passport holders who have lived abroad for more than six months in the last three years must provide a certificate of good conduct or an overseas police check in English from the respective countries.For more information on obtaining a police certificate, please refer to the UK government guidance.
