This role is key to protecting and improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of residents, workers, and visitors across the borough. The successful candidate will lead on complex Health and Safety investigations and deliver a comprehensive Food Safety inspection programme, ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining high professional standards.Key Responsibilities Conduct food safety and hygiene inspections across a variety of premisesLead and manage complex health and safety investigations and incidentsEnforce legislation using the full range of statutory powersInvestigate food complaints, infectious diseases, and public health risksInspect premises in relation to pests, drainage, refuse, and associated issuesPrepare legal case files, serve notices, and represent the Council in legal proceedings where requiredProvide professional advice and guidance to businesses, schools, and stakeholdersLiaise with key partners including the Food Standards Agency and the Health and Safety ExecutiveSupport outbreak investigations and multi-agency workingContribute to service improvement, policy development, and training initiatives You will be a qualified and experienced professional with: A recognised qualification in Environmental Health or ..... full job details .....
