AECOM is hiring for a Senior or Principal Systems Safety Engineer to join our Transportation Engineering team in the UK, focusing on rail projects as part of the Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team. The role is based in one of our UK offices with a hybrid work model.Responsibilities

Development of System Engineering and Assurance plans and processesSupport safety and assurance management for projects (e.g. CSM-REA, EN50126)Develop and manage project safety process – development of System Safety Plan, System Definition, management of Hazard Records, and collaboration with the wider project team to capture and manage hazardsStakeholder management – engage and support clients with authorisation bodies and independent assessmentsPrepare and develop safety requirements/specificationsSupport the development of Engineering Safety Cases / Safety JustificationDevelop Project Authorisation Strategies and support projects with the delivery of the applicable Rail Interoperability RegulationsDevelop scope of works and work packages with clientsParticipate in multi-disciplinary review of project deliverablesSupport engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements and expectationsServe as the systems safety resource for the Principal and Associate on projectsQualifications

Engineering degree or equivalentPossess excellent oral and written communication skillsRailway systems and assurance experience including system safety and interoperabilityKnowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation and RegulationsAdditional Information
