Thorn Baker Recruitment are looking for Class 2 HGV Drivers!Join the local Council s Waste Management Team as a Class 2 HGV Refuse Driver. This hybrid role involves operating a refuse collection vehicle and assisting with physical waste collection tasks. While driving is required, much of the role involves refuse loading duties.Key Responsibilities Driving: Operate a Class 2 refuse lorry safely in residential and urban areas.Manual Handling: Load and unload bins and waste materials; assist other loaders as needed.Teamwork: Collaborate with other crew members to complete routes efficiently.Health and Safety: Follow all relevant safety protocols while driving and loading.Customer Interaction: Represent the Council professionally when engaging with the public. Essential Requirements A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licenceAt least 2 years of experience driving Class 2 vehiclesValid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)Valid digital tachograph cardPhysically capable of manual work and loading dutiesWillingness to alternate between driving and loading tasksTeam-oriented, reliable, and safety-consciousPrevious experience in refuse collection or similar physical work is a plus (not essential) Pay and Benefits Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour, with potential increases over timeHours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM 2:30 PMTraining: Full training providedWork Environment: Supportive and team-focusedCareer Development: Long-term potential within Council roles How to ApplyIf you re ..... full job details .....
