Project Engineer (Mechanical) Job Type: PermanentSalary: £45,000-£46,000Location: NorthumberlandWorking Hours: 35.5 hours per week, early finish Fridays Day-to-day of the role: Manage assigned projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Prepare and present proposals for projects, including cost justifications and progress updates.Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to ensure compliance and accuracy.Provide mechanical engineering expertise across design, development, installation, and commissioning phases.Produce and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings using design software such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.Identify and drive process improvements related to quality, machine efficiency, and safety performance.Advise on spare parts requirements for new equipment, including recommended minimum stock levels.Evaluate potential subcontractors based on cost, delivery performance, and quality metrics.Appoint and manage subcontractors, ensuring work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.Maintain oversight of activities requiring compliance with relevant construction regulations (e.g., CDM where applicable).Ensure all project activities adhere to recognised safety, environmental, and operational standards.Liaise with external regulatory bodies and authorities when required.Identify technical or site-specific issues and implement corrective ..... full job details .....
