Advanced Principal Physicist - Radioactive Substances – job post at Guy''s and St Thomas'' NHS Foundation Trust, London SE1.Medical Physics provides scientific and technical support to a wide range of clinical and laboratory services in the Trust and to external clients. The Radiation Safety and Radiology Physics group provides services to Radiology, Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, PET and Radiotherapy services. Co-lead the work of the section in all aspects of support to radioactive substance safety.Work primarily based at the Guy’s Hospital site with potential to lead work at other Trust locations and for external contracts.Act as lead RWA. RPA and Nuclear Medicine MPE qualifications are highly desirable in a candidate and involved in providing MPE support for Nuclear Medicine for external clients.Work closely in support of the GSTT Nuclear Medicine team and KCL PET centre team.Lead design considerations and regulatory compliance related to environmental permitting and radionuclide facilities.Undertake line management functions as part of the role.Qualifications

Lead RWA/RPA and Nuclear Medicine MPE qualifications are highly desirable.Detailed experience advising on compliance with Environmental Permitting Regulations.Experience in the design of laboratories and radionuclide facilities (such as radionuclide therapies) would be an advantage.Willingness to work flexibly; involvement with external clients as required.Full consideration for UK security clearance as applicable.Location and organisation
