Overview

Veetee is a global ambient foods and rice company, a major supplier to retailers, wholesalers, and other food manufacturing businesses. We have two factories and three warehouses in Rochester, Kent, one manufacturing site and corporate office in India, and a Sales & Distribution team in the USA.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills as well as being responsible for ensuring that all team members work efficiently and effectively while maintaining high standards of food production and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• To ensure the products are stored and moved correctly, safely and in line with company standards.
• Maintain full warehouse utilisation by planning racking space and floor space, seeking advice from the Operations Manager or Supply Chain Manager if in doubt.
• To manage stock returns into the warehouse, including documentation, QA clearance and liaising with Customer Service/Supply Chain to ensuring proper recording on the system.
• To ensure all incoming raw material is labelled correctly and relocated according to instruction from the Rice buying team.
• To always ensure the safety of oneself and others and adhere to good health and safety practice.
• Any other reasonable duties, responsibilities or requests that may be issued by management from time to time.
• Provide cover for the Warehouse Supervisor at Veetee Rice – Neptune Close in their absence as required.

Requirements

• Good solid experience in a production team leading capacity, ideally within the food industry, and preferably with the relevant filing (High Care) & packaging line experience.
• Good people management and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (BRP & HACCP).
• Numerate & literate, and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team

Shift Pattern:

• Monday - Friday
• 6am-4pm
• Counterbalance and reach licenses are required
