Annual salary: up to £60,000.00. Bid Manager – Planned Works. Permanent, Full Time. Remote. Offering a salary of up to £60,000 depending on experience, plus £4,500 car allowance.We are looking for a Bid Manager to join our team at a time where the business is growing and we are winning contracts. As a Bid Manager, you’ll report to a Senior Bid Manager and ultimately to the Head of Bid Management. You’ll take the lead on high-quality bid submissions, ensuring we deliver compelling, customer-focused proposals that win business. We’re looking for an organised and driven Bid Manager to join our Central Business Development Team. You’ll be responsible for coordinating and leading the production of high-quality, tailored tender submissions with a particular focus on Planned Works. Collaborating across operational and technical teams, you’ll ensure our bids showcase our expertise in delivering large-scale refurbishment, capital investment, and improvement programmes—helping us secure contracts that make a lasting impact on communities and the built environment.Responsibilities
Leading and owning the creation of winning tender submissionsProactive management and leadership of each tender processEnsure structure of the document reflects all requirements in a way that facilitates easy scoringProduce well written proposals from researched and orchestrated responses which convey operational, technical and commercial solutions in a clear and concise mannerDesign, collation, production and review of the final submission document, including the ownership and writing of all elements / sectionsWorking as part of the wider bid team to support and produce high quality, customer focused documentsUpdating and integration of knowledge management within Document Management and CRM systemsManaging multiple deadlines, whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality in written workRole Criteria
Proven experience in writing high quality method statementsExperience of liaising with teams (particularly operators) in order to develop deliverable solutionsCompetency in MS Office softwareThe ability to work to tight deadlinesAbility to maintain a flexible attitude to work task and workload to ensure tender deadlines are achievedCalm under pressure and constant feedback / evaluationAbility to communicate effectively with colleagues and clientsAbility to work on own initiativeAll our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant Background, Identity and Security checks before commencement of employment.Benefits
