Sales Development Manager (Sheffield)

As we continue to grow our sales function, we are looking for a dynamic Sales Development Manager to lead a team of 5 Sales Development Representatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, this is a new role in a new team and will be key to the ongoing success of our Sheffield Business Development team. This year, more than 150 people will support 4000+ businesses and we expect to double our turnover over the next two years.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership and ManagementHire, onboard, train, and manage SDRs.Set clear performance expectations and KPIs (e.g. meetings booked, calls/emails sent, conversion rates).Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and performance reviews.Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture.Sales Strategy and Process DevelopmentSupport in the design and refine lead generation strategies and outreach sequences.Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align targeting and messaging.Implement best practices for lead qualification and handover to Inbound BD team.Performance Monitoring and ReportingTrack SDR metrics and pipeline contribution using CRM and sales tools.Report on team activity, conversion rates, and booked meetings.Use data to identify areas for improvement and guide coaching.Coaching and DevelopmentProvide real-time feedback, call coaching, and skills development.Run regular role-plays and shadowing sessions.Create growth plans to support career development into full-cycle sales roles.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork with marketing to ensure high-quality leads and campaign alignment.Partner with Inbound Sales Leaders to optimise lead-to-revenue process.Liaise with Inbound Sales Leaders to improve tooling and workflows.Technology and ToolsManage and optimise the use of sales tech.Ensure SDRs maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM hygiene.Evaluate and implement new tools to improve prospecting efficiency.What we are looking forProven experience as a team manager.Experience in outbound sales generation, ideally within professional services.Strong communication skills.A proactive and results-driven approach to client engagement.We need a tech-savvy self-starter who thrive in a fast-paced, modern work environment.
