Neurological Occupational Therapist

Job summary You will work as a vital member of the Inpatient Therapy Team at Danesbury Neurological Centre which specialises in the treatment and management of people with acute neurological conditions. Working as part of the wider MDT, you will provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and treatment packages to patients with neurological rehabilitation needs, as well as deliver comprehensive discharge planning. You will provide expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals. Main duties of the job To perform occupational therapeutic assessment of patients who have a neurological condition with diverse physical and cognitive presentations, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme. To hold responsibility for own case load, working with supervision from a senior Occupational Therapist. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences and reflective practice. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
