Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Lunchtime Supervisor to start immediately at a welcoming all-through special school in Birmingham. The school supports pupils from primary through to secondary age with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and positive engagement in a structured and nurturing environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive school team.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Supervising pupils during lunchtime in the dining hall and designated outdoor areasSupporting pupils with SEND during meals and social timesEncouraging positive behaviour, interaction and inclusive playProviding reassurance and guidance to pupils who may require additional supportManaging low-level behaviour and de-escalating situations calmlyEnsuring safeguarding, health and safety procedures are followed at all timesReporting concerns, incidents or achievements to teaching and senior staffThe successful candidate will:Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a SEND or school settingBe patient, caring and understanding of individual pupil needsHave strong communication and interpersonal skillsBe reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding and child protectionBe confident supporting pupils across a ..... full job details .....
