Job Title: Associate | Director of Town Planning

Salary: -60,000 - -80,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK''s leading planning and highway consultancies who provide their expertise to the residential, commercial, retail, leisure, and education sectors. They are on the lookout for an Associate to Director level candidate to lead their Town Planning team in their Leeds offices.

Duties for the role include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of planning projects from inception through to determination
  • Providing commercially focused planning advice to clients
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, representations and other planning documentation
  • Undertaking planning appraisals and assessing development opportunities
  • Advising clients on planning policy, development management and relevant legislative requirements
  • Liaising with local planning authorities, statutory consultees and other stakeholders
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and external consultants
  • Attending meetings with clients, planning officers and other stakeholders

Requirements for the role include:

  • A degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, developer or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development management.
  • Experience preparing and submitting planning applications and associated documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand clients'' objectives.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • The confidence to build effective relationships with clients, local authorities and consultants.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
