We are looking for a permanent HGV Fitter / Mechanic to be based in our Cardigan Workshop to carry out routine service and maintenance to our fleet of heavy good vehicles. In return we offer a competitive salary, with overtime rates. The Role: Subject to Passing a Drug and Alcohol Test Health and Safety: Meet company standards for PPE and safety. To report all near misses and unsafe conditions. Comply to all government legislation for maintaining road worthiness published by the DVSA.Operations: Carry out vehicle inspections to DVSA standards, preferably with demonstrable knowledge and experience with heavy goods vehicles. Complete scheduled and reactive maintenance to GDH vehicles, as well as routine servicing Diagnose faults and correct/repair vehicle defects in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct MOT Preparation work for DVSA Testing Ensure all paperwork including safety inspection records are completed to a high standard in a timely manner. Work to deadlines as part of a team, with limited supervision Operate a range of computerised systems to diagnose engine fault codes and rectify. Follow workshop procedures e.g. Re-torque procedure, rmx auxiliary inspectionEssential: Experience in servicing, repair and maintenance of HGV''s.
