The Supply Register is working in partnership with NCG to recruit enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join our Further Education Supply Bank across South London.

You will help learners overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and independence, and achieve their educational goals.
With flexible, sessional opportunities available, you can gain valuable experience across a range of Further Education settings while working around your availability.
About the RoleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside lecturers and specialist support teams to provide tailored assistance to learners with a range of abilities, needs and learning requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to help learners engage with their studies.
- Supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and additional learning needs.
- Assisting lecturers with classroom activities and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
- Promoting learner confidence, independence, engagement and positive behaviour.
- Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Helping learners progress towards their learning objectives.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to ensure learners receive appropriate assistance.
- Following college policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements.

Essential CriteriaApplicants must have:
- GCSEs at grades A–C, or equivalent qualifications, including English and Maths where required for the role.
- Experience supporting learners or individuals in an educational, care, youth work or similar support setting.
- An understanding of SEND, additional learning needs and inclusive support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive, professional relationships with learners and colleagues.
- A patient, empathetic and learner-centred approach.
- The ability to adapt to different environments and respond to individual needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Reliability, flexibility and a professional attitude.
- A qualification in Learning Support, Education, Health and Social Care, or a related field.
- Previous experience working within a Further Education college.
- Experience supporting learners with EHCPs, disabilities or complex additional needs.
- Knowledge of strategies that promote independence, engagement and positive behaviour.
