About the Role

As a KS1 teacher, you will be responsible for delivering consistently high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring every pupil is supported, challenged and encouraged to reach their full potential.

You will take full responsibility for your class and will be expected to:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach across all areas of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, including English, mathematics, science and foundation subjects.
  • Establish a stimulating, inclusive and well-organised classroom environment.
  • Set high expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement.
  • Assess, record and monitor pupil progress accurately.
  • Use assessment information to inform future planning and adapt teaching accordingly.
  • Provide appropriate support, challenge and intervention for individual pupils.
  • Develop early literacy, phonics, reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Promote a love of learning, independence, confidence and resilience.
  • Maintain effective classroom routines and positive behaviour management.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and the wider school team.
  • Attend staff meetings, parents'' evenings, training sessions and school events.
  • Contribute to the wider life and development of the school.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of every child.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete marking and assessment in accordance with school expectations.
  • Participate fully in professional development and education and training opportunities.

About You

The successful candidate will be a dedicated KS1 teacher who is passionate about primary education and committed to providing every child with an outstanding learning experience.

You will ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • High expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
