Supervising Social Worker - Foster Care

Contract Type: Full-Time (37 hours), 12-month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Salary: Up to £39,000 (dependent on experience)
Office Location: Northwest

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support foster carers to ensure high-quality care for children.
• Assess and monitor the needs of foster placements and children in care.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
• Collaborate effectively with other professionals and stakeholders.
• Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota for the Northwest region.

Requirements:

• Hold a qualification in Social Work or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.
• Proven experience of working within the fostering sector.
• Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Commitment to high-quality practice, including the willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Proficient IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and relevant databases/systems.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by Orange Grove Fostercare).
