– Saltley area. This is a full-time position that may start as temporary and could become permanent, with core hours Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Pay rate from £12.99 per hour, depending on experience. We are looking for an individual with a passion for technology who is driven to provide technical solutions. A good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other technical products is helpful.
RoleOverview
The successful candidate will take ownership of customer issues, research and diagnose problems, and provide effective solutions with a focus on helping end users and clients.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution
Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve mobile devices and system issues
Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
Provide first-line or second-line support as needed and communicate effectively with customers
Give step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
Provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software to clients and end users
Monitor, respond to and document service support requests and resolutions via telephone or email
Respond to queries, run diagnostics, isolate problems, and implement solutions
Manage equipment inventory, including booking replacement parts and coordinating collection/return of faulty goods
Understand MS Windows, install and configure Windows drivers, and troubleshoot general technical issues
Coordinate with remote field operatives and client/contractor IT personnel as required
Complete administrative aspects of the role and identify ways to reduce errors
Install, configure, and maintain related hardware; tear down, rebuild, repair and refurbish hardware as needed
Key Skills Required
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware and software issues
Knowledge of computer systems configuration, setup and maintenance
Hands-on PC hardware experience and basic system building skills
Mechanical and electrical aptitude is an advantage
Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and think independently
Knowledge of basic networking
Knowledge of Linux-based operating systems is advantageous but not essential
Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues affecting mobile devices and other products
Performing maintenance and updates to ensure optimal software/hardware performance
