This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, award-winning London-based Material Science company. They are leaders within their field and are entering an exciting phase of scale-up and commercialisation. Due to the natural growth of the business, they are looking for a Process Development Engineer to join the team.What you’ll be doing?Developing and scaling chemical processes from lab to commercial scale.Designing and optimising processes to improve safety, performance, and sustainability.Leading experimental planning, process optimisation, and scale-up strategies.Translating lab research into commercially viable operations.Specifying, procuring, and commissioning process equipment up to pilot scale.Collaborating with engineering partners to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.Driving innovation through new technologies and digital tools.Ensuring safety, compliance, and risk management across all projects.What they are looking for?Degree in Chemical Engineering (BEng/MEng/PhD).5+ years’ experience in process development and scale-up.Proven track record in lab-to-production transitions and equipment commissioning.Strong skills in process simulation (Aspen Plus or equivalent).Expertise in technoeconomic evaluation and core unit operations.Flexible and adaptable across diverse projects and scales.Excellent communicator with strong problem-solving skills.Knowledge of safety regulations and process hazard analysis.What you’ll get in return?This role will be based full-time in Bermondsey.
