Your role:Global Relay is seeking a Chef De Partie for our corporate office in the City of London as part of our offering to a full-time staff of 650 employees. Candidates for this position must be professional and courteous, with experience dealing with the public. The successful applicant will be proficient in all aspects of operation of a small catering/prep kitchen, assuming responsibility and ownership of all key functions.In this capacity you will be responsible for satisfying a variety of needs for Global Relay''s lounge and related areas.To ensure that equipment, utensils and working areas are kept clean and are in good working condition at all timesTo ensure that your area of work is always organized to meet business demandsTo keep the kitchen team constantly informed on all food related stock item levels in accordance with business levelsTo produce in good time, all dishes are agreed with specifications and profitabilityTo promote a positive attitude and display the ability to make things happen to achieve or exceed anticipated resultsTo adhere to all Food Hygiene Practices and proceduresTo assist the kitchen team with daily inspection of physical aspects of all kitchen areas, fridges and equipmentTo carry out any reasonable tasks requested by Senior ManagementYour job:Duties may include, but are not limited to:Planning, preparation, execution and service of a daily breakfast and lunch menu for approximately 200 office staffPlanning and preparing working lunches for guests and other special office gatheringsProvide appropriate presentation and service of finished product to staffImplement and supervise proper food safety and sanitation techniquesEnsure general cleanliness and upkeep of the lounge, kitchen and equipment on a daily and ongoing basisTo work closely with the kitchen team in order to assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of produceTo prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Senior Chef.To ensure that customers are given a prompt and efficient service with expectations consistently exceededTo be a team player, assisting other team members when necessaryTo treat members of the team as you would expect to be treated.Assist with stock, deliveries and waste management, checking and recording in line with company policiesTo show commitment to company values in all aspects of your roleTo act as a positive ambassador for the businessTo support the kitchen team in managing daily operational and qualitative aspects in the kitchenWork towards achieving company standards. This will be monitored regularlyCompetent working on all sections / kitchen levelsDevelop a professional relationship with other members of staffDevelop a palate and an understanding of the produce we useAbout you:2-year Culinary Arts degree or equivalent 2 years work experienceExperience as a Chef Assistant within catering and/or prep kitchenExperience in a high-volume environmentAbout us:At Global Relay there is no ceiling.
