Where you''ll be doing it - Near Tewksbury, Gloucestershire
Your employment contract - Permanent
Your hours - Days only made up of long days and 8 hours shifts - no nights
Who would you be working for - This home supports adolescents who have encountered adversity, including emotional distress, behavioural issues, or disruptive life events. It''s a transition home with ages 14 to 23 years. They are committed to making a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our communities. With your support, they can help every child and young person reach beyond their circumstances and discover what''s truly possible. You will focus on trauma-informed care that recognises each individual''s story, strengths, and needs.
What would your responsibilities be? No two days are ever the same. You''ll be part of a caring, supportive team and share in moments of fun, laughter, and real connection. Duties include creating a safe, fun, and structured home environment where young people can feel secure and supported. Your day might include preparing meals, helping with school runs, joining in activities, or simply being there at bedtime. You''ll be a consistent and trusted presence, offering both practical help and emotional support to build confidence, life skills, and a sense of independence. You''ll also keep clear, accurate records and work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure each young person receives the right support. Above all, you''ll follow safeguarding procedures to ensure everyone''s safety and wellbeing.
Requirements? We''re looking for someone who genuinely cares about children and young people. You''ll need patience, empathy, emotional resilience, and a good sense of humour to thrive in this role. A positive, hands-on attitude and strong communication skills are essential, as is the flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends. Weekend work tends to be one in three per month. You will not be required to work nights. You do need to be a driver due to home location and have access to your own vehicle
Previous experience in care is welcome but not essential-we''ll provide full training and ongoing support to help you succeed.
