The Senior Occupational Therapist has a pivotal role within the multi-professional palliative care team. You will be working with Consultants, nurses, another Occupational Therapist, a Counsellor and our specialist administrators. You will be contributing to care across all adult inpatient areas in the hospital.Qualifications and Experience
EssentialTo have a degree or other recognised qualification in occupational therapyHPC RegisteredPost graduate specialist experience in palliative care as demonstrated by ongoing CPDSpecialist knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of conditions, including advanced clinical reasoning and treatment skillsExperience of teaching and presenting to other staffExperience of supervising and developing other staff and studentsKnowledge of Clinical Governance and its implications for the occupational therapy service and palliative careDesirableMasters level qualification in palliative careExperience of a range of health settingsCommunicationEssentialExcellent communication skills, including the ability to process and share complex informationDemonstrates professional autonomyAble to pass on specialist skills/knowledge to others within formal and informal settings, including multidisciplinary groupsDesirableTraining and Presentation skillsRequirements
