About The Role

They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

Candidate Profile

Some experience in a Design Engineering or CAD Operator position.HNC/HND/BTEC/NVQ or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).A keen interest in the motorsport industry.Experience designing enclosures for electromechanical equipment (ideal).Experience designing equipment for harsh environments (beneficial).Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.Proficient with 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge, including core principles and tight tolerances.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient with MS Office.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a small multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Use CAD for concept design and produce technical drawings.Liaise with manufacturing providers.Contribute to final assembly of products.Create required design documentation, project reports, and plans.Update 3D models and drawings.Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs.Check drawings for sign-off.Work within a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects.
