We would also consider Leeds or Manchester as a workplace - expectation is 1 to 2 days in the office.The Enterprise Platforms Principal Engineer will drive the evolution of the Enterprise Platform, ensuring the platform continues to evolve in line with changing business requirements for corporate application hosting. AWS Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for EnterpriseWindowsProvide line management to the Consultative Engineering Squad within Enterprise platforms; Provide coaching and mentoring to team members to upskill the team.Act as an escalation point for the senior engineer within the Core Engineering Squad.Collaborate with Product and Engineering managers to develop new ways of working that promote collaboration, autonomy, and high standards.Develop the Enterprise Platforms product set, including automation with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools, especially for AWS, Azure, and GCP.Identify and implement orchestration, configuration management, and automation tools that meet business needs.Introduce modern engineering practices to improve platform efficiency, stability, and security.Design hosting solutions in collaboration with architecture and cybersecurity teams.Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.Experience deploying and managing Windows and Linux servers.Good practice knowledge of platform engineering, including orchestration, automation, and configuration management tools.Proficiency with AWS, PowerShell, Puppet, CloudFormation, ARM, Terraform, Azure, and GCP (desirable).Other desirable qualitiesProduct focus: understanding customer feedback and continuous development.Delivery experience: proven ability to execute projects and releases.Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.Flexibility in working hours to meet project deadlines.Full-time.Information Technology.
