Specialist Dietitian - Neurosciences & Critical Care

The post holder will be line manager for one Band 6 dietitian and will work with the Clinical Leads to ensure services are evaluated and transformed where required. The successful applicant will have a strong clinical background within the specialist areas in addition to leadership and operational skills. You will have excellent communication skills and extensive experience of working within an MDT.You will join a large, supportive dietetic team at King''s College Hospital. Our dietetics department expects all staff to be involved in teaching of other healthcare professionals, in line with our mission to provide excellence in clinical care, research and teaching in King\''s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.The department supports flexible working under the King\''s Flex system.We are seeking to employ an experienced and highly motivated dietitian to join our team of over 60 Dietetic staff at King\''s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent Band 7 role, working jointly across both the Neurosciences and the Critical Care dietetic teams based at our Denmark Hill site.Responsibilities
Provide dietetic input to the Neurosciences High Dependency unit for three days per week and work alongside the Band 6 Neurosciences Dietitian to cover the Neurosurgical inpatient caseload. Specialities include Neuro-oncology, Spinal, Skull base surgery, Neurovascular surgery and Acquired Brain Injury.Develop and deliver dietetic services within Critical Care, covering the Critical Care caseload for two days per week in collaboration with the MDT.Line manage one Band 6 dietitian and work with Clinical Leads to evaluate and transform services as required.Contribute to teaching and professional development within the department and participate in MDT meetings and service improvement initiatives.Support a large and dynamic team (over 60 Dietetic staff) and work across Neurosciences and Critical Care teams.Qualifications and experience
Strong clinical background within specialist dietetic areas.Leadership and operational skills with experience of working in an MDT environment.Excellent communication skills and ability to work across disciplines and sites.Experience in teaching and training healthcare professionals.About the team and organisation
