Role: SafeSpace Support worker

Rate: £14.75ph PAYE or £19 ph umb
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Temp until end of December (possible extension subject to funding)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week Wednesday to Friday (hybrid)
Our client, a specialist charity, are recruiting for a Support Worker to join SafeSpace, a unique London-based service supporting women who have experienced Human Trafficking and/or Modern-Day Slavery.
Synopsis of duties:
- Completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing individual support plans.
- Providing practical advice, advocacy and support around housing, welfare benefits and other statutory rights.
- Supporting women with welfare benefit applications and renewals.
- Working closely with Police, Immigration, NASS, probation, solicitors, local authorities and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Supporting women with move-on and resettlement into independent accommodation.
- Providing time-limited resettlement support following move-on.
- Promoting service user involvement, empowerment and independence.
- Facilitating appropriate group activities and social events.
- Maintaining accurate case records, reports and monitoring information.
- Supporting tenancy sustainment and addressing issues such as neighbour disputes where required.
- Working positively with colleagues, volunteers and partner agencies.
Essential Requirements
- Experience of managing a caseload
- Experience providing high-quality support to victims/survivors of Human Trafficking or Modern Day Slavery.
- Knowledge and understanding of NASS, welfare rights and the National Referral Mechanism (NRM).
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding, housing, welfare benefits, immigration and related support services.
- Experience of multi-agency working.
- Strong assessment, support planning, risk management and advocacy skills
- Enhanced Adult and Child DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months
