Senior Manager – Electrical Design Engineering

This is a key leadership role responsible for managing and developing the electrical engineering department. You will lead multidisciplinary projects, provide expert technical guidance, mentor engineers, and ensure the highest standards of delivery and client satisfaction. Strategic and Project Leadership: Lead and oversee electrical engineering services across a variety of commercial and residential projects; act as the technical authority and main client liaison throughout the project lifecycle; provide strategic input into business development, proposals, and overall company direction.Design Oversight and Compliance: Develop and review electrical designs, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems; ensure all designs comply with UK regulations and best practices (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations, CDM, CIBSE, BSRIA); produce and review schematic and layout drawings using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other tools; conduct site inspections, assess existing systems, and produce detailed technical reports and schematics; design and integrate systems such as lighting, fire alarms, CCTV, and telecommunications.Team Management and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the electrical design team, fostering a high-performance culture; provide structured support and technical oversight to junior engineers and project staff; collaborate cross-functionally with project managers and design teams to ensure seamless delivery.Commercial and Project Delivery Oversight: Manage project scope, budgets, and resources effectively; monitor progress, ensure profitability, and align delivery with productivity and invoicing targets.Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Present technical solutions and reports confidently to clients and stakeholders; build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, contractors, and consultants; support business development initiatives and contribute to the company’s growth strategy.Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (Master’s preferred).Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IET (or equivalent).Minimum of 12–15 years’ experience in building services, with at least 5 years in a senior or associate leadership role.Strong technical track record in electrical systems within the UK construction sector.Proven experience managing teams and delivering complex projects.Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities.Effective leader with a collaborative and mentoring mindset.Excellent communication skills, confident engaging with clients and multidisciplinary teams.Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, and other industry-standard design tools.Highly organised, deadline-driven, and quality-focused.Why Join Them?
