We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. Based at our Capenhurst site location, you’ll work as part of the Maintenance Team to identify opportunities for improvements within Maintenance in order for the department to work more efficiently and effectively. To provide technical advice and support to the Maintenance teams and to manage contracts to seek optimal value to the business. To maintain, sustain and improve site systems — inclusive of support / submission / management of minor and major capital investment projects.

What you’ll do:

• Lead efforts to increase the efficiency of the department
• Manage small technical projects in accordance to correct procedures
• Evaluate Maintenance Process
• Collate improvement opportunities
• Evaluate and prioritise maintenance process opportunities
• Evaluate and prioritise technical opportunities
• Build a culture of continuous improvement with the Maintenance teams
• Develops and owns the process for recording, analysing and implementing improvement ideas within the Maintenance teams
• Projects to be managed in accordance with all relevant company instructions, best practice and most current legislation.
• Ensure all documentation is available for hand over at the end of the project.
• The maintenance processes are continuously monitored looking for areas of improvement
• Identify opportunities for technical or maintenance process improvements
• Evaluate opportunities for improvement and set priority for each
• Analyse the efficiency and effectiveness of current systems and develop strategies for improving these systems.
• Keeps the current status of plant systems information up to date.
• Ensures that the Maintenance Planning function are kept up date on the current status of plant systems
• Ensures that problem solving sessions take place, that actions are put on the correct people and follow up to ensure the completion


What do you need to thrive in this role?
• Experience in structured problem solving and route cause analysis
• Developed technical, planning and communications skills
• Good communication and customer liaison skills to be able to identify and understand requirements and to gain confidence in solutions provided
• Ability to communicate in non-specialist, business focused terms.
• Proficient in the use of site computer systems and applications as appropriate for the role (e.g. Microsoft word, SAP, email)
• Business awareness & commercial focussed
• In-depth knowledge of all maintenance activities carried out on site
• Familiarity with technical documentation requirements in a highly regulated environment
• Ability to analyse technical data to aid fault finding
• Excellent fault finding skills
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance working instructions, permits and procedures to ensure all standards are met
