Our client are seeking a Finance Assistant to join it''s team in Hertford. This is a varied role offering exposure across finance, payroll, VAT and administration. Alongside full training, you will be offered long term opportunities for career development, plus a modern office in a great location.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing new customer accounts, pro-forma invoices and project invoicing.
• Handling customer account queries and supporting sales ledger activities.
• Assisting with quarterly and overseas VAT administration.
• Maintaining digital finance records and managing petty cash.
• Processing employee expenses, including credit card and mileage claims.
• Supporting the implementation of an expenses management system.
• Assisting with National Statistics returns and general finance administration.
• Setting up new starters and processing monthly payroll using Sage 50.
• Managing pension contributions, enrolments and employee queries.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll and pension records.

Candidate requirements:

• Ideally you will be working towards AAT, although full training is provided
• Confident using Sage 50 Accounts and Microsoft Excel
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills and able to manage a varied workload
• Comfortable working as part of a small, supportive team
