ob Purpose To carry out thorough inspections and assessments of fire doors across client sites in accordance with current fire safety regulations (e.g., BS 8214, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Building Safety Act 2022). The role ensures that all fire doors meet the required standards for integrity, operation, and compliance, contributing to the overall fire strategy and occupant safety of the building. Key Responsibilities Conduct scheduled and ad hoc inspections of fire doors in residential, commercial, or public buildings. Assess the condition, functionality, and compliance of fire door components including door leaves, frames, hinges, closers, vision panels, seals, signage, and gaps. Complete detailed inspection reports using digital or paper-based checklists in accordance with company and legislative standards. Identify non-compliant elements and provide recommendations for remedial actions or repairs. Liaise with facilities, maintenance teams, or contractors regarding follow-up works and retesting. Maintain accurate inspection records to support audits and compliance documentation. Stay up to date with changes in legislation, standards, and best practice. Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and relevant training. Contribute to continuous improvement in fire door inspection processes and reporting tools.
