We are recruiting part time Medical Receptionist at St Peters Surgery. Being frontline/patient facing staff in Primary Care is no easy job, so we are looking for individuals with a positive mindset, eagerness to learn new systems and excellent communication skills. St Peters Surgery will provide training and ongoing support in the role, so please do not be put off if you have no prior reception or administration experience.The hours we require are:Monday: 1.30pm-6.30pmTuesday: 1.30pm-6.30pmThursday: 1.30pm-6.30pmFriday: 1.30pm-6.30pmMain duties of the job

You will be required to work in a team of 7 medical receptionists on a rotational basis to cover core opening hours. We are looking for a team player to cover a range of reception duties including, booking patient appointments, call handling, patient triaging and many other administrative duties. Experience of general practice is desirable but not essential.About us

Based near the Walsall College in the heart of Walsall, St Peters Surgery is a 5 partner GP Practice that provides primary care services to 10,000 patients.Our clinical team includes a salaried GP, Nurses, Healthcare assistants, Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapist and many other associated staff. A strong and experienced reception, administration and medical secretary team keep the surgery running smoothly with the assistance of a Practice Business Manager and Practice Operations Manager.Job responsibilities

Duties will includeTo open up and close the surgery as appropriate.To provide, as the first point of contact with the surgery, a welcoming and caring atmosphere and environment for patients and visitorsTo operate an efficient, effective and appropriate appointment system to facilitate patient access.To handle telephone and personal calls, messages and enquiries giving advice and guidance as appropriate and in accordance with practice guidelines.To operate the administration systems in accordance with practice procedures.Promote patient use of the self check-in, on-line services (via practice website) and the patient reference groupPromote practice clinical servicesTo ensure good communications and the efficient flow of information between the practice teams.To follow administrative procedures for patient registration and removal, quality and outcomes service, targets and private health work.Using the computer to record patient data, (e.g. personal, immunisations, test results, health promotion, and drugs).Person Specification

Qualifications

GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths (or equivalent experience)Experience

Previous experience in GP PracticeDisclosure and Barring Service Check
