Principal/Senior or Experienced HV Plant Design Engineer (Substation Design)

– Stantec, Northampton, England, United Kingdom. This role sits within our Energy team and offers the opportunity to contribute to the UK energy transition through a variety of substation design projects.Responsibilities

Work as part of the HV team for electrical substation design projects, supporting and leading FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment, extensions and new-build projects; experience with UK TandD clients is advantageous.Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver FEED and detailed design for substations and related schemes.Engage with clients across the country on HV projects, including HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, and protection systems; involvement may include building design, LVAC, FEED and refurbishment works.Join a growing, collaborative energy team focused on innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges; participate in the UK energy transition.Contribute to development opportunities within the team as the energy sector grows.Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering.Experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer.Experience in design and specification production for HV substation plant electrical power systems and components.Understanding of protection and control (PandC) aspects is preferable.Proactive with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry; able to coach and work within the energy team.Willingness to learn and adapt; Stantec supports development and training for the right people.Benefits
