Assistant Director of Place Shaping (Development)

to join our Development department at

You will lead a high-performing team across multiple locations while delivering projects that transform communities. Leading the Place Shaping team to deliver new build, regeneration, and refurbishment projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to drive high performance and continuous improvement across the Development Department.Developing and managing Place Shaping programmes, setting targets, monitoring progress, and addressing variances to guarantee delivery commitments.Building strong relationships with internal departments, stakeholders, and developer partners to ensure collaboration and successful project outcomes.Ensuring compliance with Homes England Development Standards, governance, audit, and Health and Safety regulations.Overseeing procurement strategies, contractual relationships, and budget management for the Place Shaping programme.Representing the Group externally and influencing stakeholders to promote high-quality affordable homes and growth opportunities.Driving innovation, technology, and design within the Place Shaping programme, adapting to legislative changes, funding criteria, and policies.Managing recruitment, mentoring, and professional development for the Place Shaping team.We Are Looking For Someone Who Has

Experience managing construction to Homes England Development Standards.Proven track record in partnership working, budget management, and investment/regeneration projects.Knowledge of development procedures, project management, and the full development cycle.Experience in private sector housing, social housing, or construction/development.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence at a senior level.Relevant qualifications (e.g., CIH L3 or above, foundation degree, or equivalent in construction/development).Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.Flexible approach to working hours to meet project demands.Desirable

Experience of resident involvement and engagement.Experience in scheme appraisals and regeneration option appraisals.Benefits
