Laser Operative – Job Role Description

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser cutting, engraving, or marking machines according to job specifications
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to ensure accurate production
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to laser settings (speed, intensity, focal point)
• Inspect finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health and safety protocols
• Record production data and report any issues or defects to supervisors

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating laser cutting or CNC machinery (preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment

• Typically based in a manufacturing or fabrication facility
• May involve standing for long periods and handling materials
• Use of protective gear may be required due to laser equipment and materials
