SEND Teaching Assistant

SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a two-form entry Church of England primary school in Harrow which is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team at the start of the new academic year in September.

The Role

• Working with a Year 3 pupil with Autism (ASC) on a one-to-one basis.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver tailored support throughout the school day.
• The child can sometimes find school life overwhelming and frustrating, so the school is looking for someone who is patient, kind, calm and understanding, with the ability to build a trusting relationship and help the pupil feel safe, supported and engaged in learning.
• The role is initially until Christmas, with a chance of the role continuing for the rest if the academic year.
• Working hours: 8:15am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday.
• Daily rate: -95100, depending on experience.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism (ASC), in a primary school.
• Be patient, with a calm approach to supporting children who may become frustrated at school.
• Have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain accurate records of pupil progress and well-being.
• A positive, flexible attitude and a genuine passion for helping children thrive are essential.
