GPW Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of our client to champion safety, efficiency, and quality in a leading chemical manufacturing environment.About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you''ll have overall responsibility for production, maintenance, and warehouse operations. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you''ll be visible on the shop floor and in the boardroom, coaching and mentoring your teams, implementing improvements, and delivering on strategic business objectives.You’ll lead projects to improve safety, environmental performance, product and process quality, manufacturing costs, customer service levels, and people performance.Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all operational areas: Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse.Ensure the highest standards of health and safety, environmental compliance, and product quality.Develop and maintain an effective manufacturing structure that supports business growth.Define and monitor KPI performance to measure operational success.Deliver continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency, output, and service while reducing waste and costs.Set clear expectations for the operations team and provide regular performance feedback.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.About You
Essential:
Proven leadership in fast-paced manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience in batch and continuous processing (e.g., cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals). Strong knowledge of GMP, GLP, LEAN, Six Sigma, and ISO-based quality systems. Experienced in managing multidisciplinary teams including Production, Maintenance, Planning, and Logistics. Track record of improving safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control. Skilled in Lean methodologies such as 5S and continuous improvement.Desirable:
Knowledge of extrusion, compounding, polymer processing, and pigment/masterbatch handling. Degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or related field.What''s on Offer
