An opening has arisen at a construction business in South Buckinghamshire for a Quantity Surveyor, to provide assistance to the Divisional Managing Director, with the control of all commercial aspects of their customer and sub-contractor contracts from initial order to final account, ensuring maximising commercial performance throughout.Liaising closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure accurate project costingPrepare specifications and / or Contractor''s proposals (VE)Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and / or sub-contractorsPricing all materials included in project plans and drawingsNegotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers and sub-contractorsPreparing and maintaining cost reports, managing budgetsPrepare monthly valuations works carried out and submit applications for paymentIdentify contract variations and client changes, controlling costsMaintain contract documentation and advise on pre-tender and post contract mattersAnalyse contract performance and reconcile against financial performanceDealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials and identifying new productsPrepare and negotiate a Final AccountsEnsuring HSE compliance requirements of materials and servicesWe are looking for someone with experience of running projects as the Commercial Lead, with good practice of contract/commercial law.
