Search Consultancy is recruiting an experienced Wallpaper Hanger for an active commercial fit-out project in Newcastle upon Tyne. Paying a competitive -21.00 per hour (CIS), this role offers excellent site continuity and steady hours for a precision tradesperson capable of delivering flawless, high-specification wallcovering finishes.

Working alongside interior fit-out supervisors and finishing teams, you will execute high-quality paperhanging across commercial, hospitality, or high-spec residential spaces:

• Substrate Preparation: Cross-lining, sizing, filling, and sanding walls to ensure an impeccably smooth, absorbent base for paper application.

• Measuring & Layout: Setting out plumb lines, calculating drops, and measuring accurately to minimise waste and ensure balanced layouts across feature walls and large rooms.

• Paperhanging & Application: Pasting, hanging, and trimming wide-vinyls, commercial wallcoverings, patterned papers, and delicate fabrics with clean seam alignments.

• Precision Finishing: Executing clean cuts around sockets, switches, architraves, and light fittings without tearing or stretching material.

• Quality & Care: Managing paste application to prevent staining, rolling seams cleanly, and keeping finished surfaces immaculate.

To satisfy site access rules and quality standards, all applicants must possess:

• CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating) CSCS card is strictly mandatory.

• Trade Expertise: Proven track record with dedicated experience in commercial wide-vinyl hanging and high-end wallpaper installation.

• Tools & Kit: Full specialist paperhanging kit (pasting table, seam rollers, plumb lines, specialist knives/blades, brushes, scissors) and standard 5-point PPE.

• Transport: Reliable transport to commute to site locations in Newcastle upon Tyne daily.

• Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.

• Top Market Pay: Strong rate of -21.00 per hour paid under CIS.
