Job Responsibilities as a Mental Health Support Worker

• Provide 1:1 emotional and mental health support to students experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, and other emotional difficulties.
• Support small groups through wellbeing activities designed to develop emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and social skills.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement individual support plans and strategies that promote students'' mental health and wellbeing.
• Monitor, record, and report students'' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, engagement, and progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records.

What we''re looking for in a Mental Health Support Worker

• Compassionate and empathetic - able to understand and respond sensitively to students experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties.
• Patient and supportive - able to provide consistent reassurance and encouragement, particularly when students are experiencing challenging emotions or behaviours.
• Excellent communication skills - able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals.
• Emotionally resilient - able to remain calm and professional when supporting students experiencing distress or challenging situations.
