Senior / Lead Mechanical Engineer

What will you be doing?
-Leading mechanical design and engineering projects from concept through to manufacture and installation
-Producing and reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation
-Managing project timelines, budgets and technical deliverables
-Supporting customer meetings and technical discussions
-Coordinating with manufacturing, procurement and installation teams
-Mentoring and supporting junior engineers
-Driving continuous improvement across engineering standards and processes

Where you''ll be doing it
You''ll be joining a well-established engineering business specialising in bespoke mechanical handling and engineered systems projects across a range of industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their engineering team in Barnsley.

What you''ll need
-Strong mechanical engineering and project delivery experience
-Experience within mechanical handling, special purpose machinery, industrial equipment or heavy engineering environments
-Proficiency using 3D CAD packages such as SolidWorks, Inventor or similar
-Understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM and engineering best practice
-Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
-Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
-Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline preferred
