To work with academic staff to develop teaching materials, teach, set assessments, mark, provide timely feedback and contribute to the Law degree portfolio, including supporting or coordinating appropriate experiential learning and professional development activities;To lead core and optional modules and coordinate the operation of these modules with Law colleagues and central administration staff to ensure student needs are met;To conduct and publish research in high-impact journals in the area of Law, and contribute to a dynamic research culture in the department, including supporting the activities of relevant research centres and projects;To translate knowledge of advances in the subject areas into the course of study and respond to pedagogical and practical challenges;To supervise research by undergraduate, LLB, LLM and MPhil/PhD students;To attract external research funding in related areas of activity;To act as a personal tutor to students;To represent Law on College boards and committees;To take a proactive role in developing and growing the Department of Law;To deliver an excellent student experience, support and professional development opportunities;To contribute to the effective administration of the Department of Law as a whole;To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required;Ensure awareness of and alignment with Goldsmiths'' Regulations, Strategy, and Objectives to proactively advance Equality and Diversity;To help maintain a safe working environment by participating in training as necessary and following Goldsmiths'' Health and Safety Codes of Practice and Policy.Role details

We are appointing a permanent, full-time Lecturer in Law with expertise in any area of Law, but with an ability to teach and lead Public Law in Year 1. An ability to contribute to the delivery of other modules, particularly other foundation subjects in Law, is desirable. The appointee will be expected to demonstrate a growing research profile with a clear plan for publications, an understanding of the external funding landscape, and the ability to communicate their research beyond the academy. The role holder will have considerable opportunities for development in the role, and to provide leadership. This academic appointment will further shape our programmes'' distinctiveness and will strengthen our engaging research environment. A good first degree and PhD (or equivalent) or near completion of a PhD are essential.Essential Criteria

Experience: A growing research profile with the ability to produce internationally-leading research (3 star in REF terms); clear ideas, potential, and ambition relating to future research likely to attract external funding;Skills: Excellent teaching skills in related fields with the ability to adopt innovative approaches to teaching aligned with Goldsmiths Law''s approach; high initiative, enthusiasm and motivation; ability to enable high standards from others.Desirable Criteria

Knowledge: An emerging track record of external funding or potential in this respect; commitment to continuing growth of Goldsmiths Law; ability to work intensively as part of a small team; ability to undertake interdisciplinary collaborative research with other staff;Competencies: Ability to provide leadership, contribute to the development of Law programmes and establish partnerships and collaborations with NGOs, organisations and leading experts in the field.About Goldsmiths Law and benefits
